Police seek woman after assault, robbery outside liquor store in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 29, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are seeking a woman suspected of robbing and assaulting another woman outside a Utah State Liquor Store in Salt Lake City Friday evening.

The incident occurred in the area of the liquor store at 1255 W. North Temple St. at approximately 7:50 p.m., Salt Lake City Police Department Detective Robert Ungricht told Gephardt Daily.

Ungricht said two women were crossing the street from the TRAX Fairpark Station towards the liquor store when the altercation took place.

“Two women got into a verbal altercation that turned physical when one of the women assaulted the other,” officials said. “During the altercation the suspect took the victim’s property.”

Ungricht said the suspect allegedly stole a wallet and cell phone from the victim.

It appears the two women were not known to each other, he added.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, mid 30s, approximately 6 feet tall and 175 pounds, wearing jeans and a black sweater.
