SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah, March 7, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — San Juan County officials are warning the public about a phone scam that started Wednesday.
“We have received several reports of a fraud scheme,” said a Facebook post from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. “The caller claims to be named T. Roberts, a Deputy with SJCSO. He claims he is with the Federal Pretrial Services and that you are being given a Federal subpoena for failure to appear for jury duty.”
The number he is giving out is 801-981-5566.
“DO NOT send this individual any money or personal information,” the post advised. “Please spread the word to friends and family that may be especially vulnerable to these kinds of schemes.”
