BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS, UTAH – September 14, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The Lantern Fest, a traditional lighting of Chinese lanterns to symbolize good fortune, request favorable weather, or celebrate the life of a loved one, came to Utah Saturday.

The festival at the Bonneville Seabase in Grantsville featured music, dancing, and s’mores before nightfall and then thousands of well-wishers lit the sky with lanterns.

  1. Unmm… Aren’t we in a bit of a drought right now? Why would anyone think throwing fire into the sky/wind is a good idea?

    • Did you not read the part where they said SALT FLATS? It was truly an awesome experience! Luckily for those of us who attended, Salt Flats don’t burn!
