WEST WENDOVER, Utah, Jan. 21, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in West Wendover arrested two men after a victim texted his family saying he had been assaulted and kidnapped Thursday morning.

According to a press release issued by the West Wendover Police Department, three men had traveled from Bakersfield, California to Taylorsville to start a new job.

When the job fell through and the men became stranded, two of the men, Nathan Ferguson, 26, and Andrew Ussery, 29, allegedly assaulted the victim and took him against his will to a Pilot gas station in West Wendover.

According to police, the victim had sent a text message to his family who in turn contacted Unified Police Department in Taylorsville. Police in West Wendover were notified and responded to the location were they found the three men.

The victim was transported to a Salt Lake area hospital for further evaluation while the two men were interviewed. Ferguson and Ussery were initially released due to lack of evidence that the victim had actually been kidnapped.

Unified Police officers interviewed the victim in the hospital and after obtaining more information, the two men were re-arrested in West Wendover and transported to the Elko County Jail.
