Utah COVID-19 update: 9 deaths, 2,269 more cases reported in Utah

UTAH, June 26, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Monday reported 2,269 new COVID-19 cases and nine more deaths documented since the last report, which was issued Thursday.

Total coronavirus cases documented in Utah now stand at 428,687. On Thursday, 768 cases were reported. On Friday, 672 cases were reported. On Saturday, 506 cases were reported. On Sunday, 329 cases were reported.

Six previously reported cases were removed from the records after further review.

Documented COVID-19 deaths now stand 2,434. The new deaths were of:

  • A Box Elder County woman between 65 and 84, not hospitalized
  • A Davis County man between 65 and 84, hospitalized
  • A Salt Lake County man between 45 and 64, hospitalized
  • A Salt Lake County woman between 45 and 64, hospitalized
  • A Tooele County man between 65 and 84, not hospitalized
  • A Washington County man between 45 and 64m hospitalized
  • A Washington County man between 65 and 84, hospitalized
  • A Weber County man between 45 and 74, hospitalized
  • A woman of unknown age and county residence, hospitalized

Vaccines administered in Utah numbers 2,989,690, which is 20,552 more than Thursday.

Tests have been administered to 2,893,215 people in Utah, an increase of 15,683 people tested since Thursday. Total tests administered here number 5,271,032, an increase of 25,875 since Thursday.

The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 646 per day.

The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 14.6%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 10.2%.

There are 343 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 18,376.
