WEST BOUNTIFUL, Utah, Jan. 22, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A water line break in West Bountiful has closed the two left lanes of southbound Interstate 15 at 500 West on Tuesday afternoon.
A tweet from the Utah Highway Patrol said crews are working to remove standing water in the area of exit 318. All lanes should be reopened by 5:30 p.m., the tweet said.
West Bountiful officials posted on Facebook that the water line break is affecting the east side of the city, including 500 West.
The post at 4 p.m. said water has been restored south of 400 North, which includes the Commons and Gateway business areas.
“Sediment in the pipes was stirred up, so if the water looks brown or red, flush until clear, but the water is safe,” the post said.
Water is still off in the area north of 400 North and east of I-15, officials said.
The cause of the break is not yet known.
