George O. Frazier,71, of Woodruff, was killed last night as he was traveling Eastbound on I-80 just prior to the Coalville Mile Post 162.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, A white 2000 GMC Envoy, driven by Frazier, was in the right lane (and partially in the right emergency lane) moving much slower than traffic speed. It appears the GMC was having mechanical problems. The UHP are still investigating whether it may have been pulling out of the emergency lane and into the travel lane.

At that time a white 2014 Dodge Ram came up behind the GMC moving at freeway speed and impacted with the rear of the GMC where neither Frazier nor his female occupant were wearing seatbelts. The GMC left the roadway to the right and both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

Frazier sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His female passenger was transported to the University of Utah by ambulance with critical injuries.

The male driver of the Dodge pickup was restrained and did not sustain injuries.
