BOONVILLE, Mo., Jan. 27 (UPI) — Anheuser-Busch has announced the birth of Mac, the companies first Budweiser Clydesdale born in 2016.

The first foal of 2016, Mac was born Tuesday at the Warm Springs Ranch in Bonnville, Mo. where he joined more than 160 other Clydesdales residing at the ranch.

“Mac’s name is a nod to the iconic legacy of the Budweiser Clydesdales, the most macro of all icons, representing Budweiser’s quality for more than 80 years,” Anheuser-Busch said in a statement.

“Mac will reside at Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Mo. while he learns the ins and outs of being a Budweiser Clydesdale,” the company continued before noting their rich history in raising the adorable group of horses.

“The tradition of the Budweiser Clydesdales started in 1933 when they made their first-ever appearance as a gift from August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition.”

The Budweiser Clydesdales are a group of horses used by the brewing company in various commercials and advertisements notably used in conjunction with the SuperBowl.
