#HashtagLunchbag was just a silly name that four friends came up with on Christmas Day, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. The intent was simple. They were going to prepare and deliver a hearty and well-balanced meal to their local homeless community.

Everyone chipped in a few bucks before a quick trip to the grocery store to purchasing a few goodies. They started inviting a few more friends to help them assemble the lunch bags, blast some music and then hit the streets

They crafted the unique #HashtagLunchbag via social media, which is not uncommon in this day and age, and started asking if anyone wanted to come with them to the next outing. That is when they knew they were onto something big and they wanted to make this an ongoing event.

Living in an era where digital media reigns and word-of-mouth chatter spreads quickly,  they realized that their grassroots effort had the potential to go viral. There have been hundreds of volunteers that have helped them to spread the #HashtagLunchbag movement.

Their ongoing goal is to inspire others around the world to join them in their journey to feed and feel love. They truly believe that small actions from lots of people can empower big changes.

Check out their GET INVOLVED page to join the movement and help them put an end to world hunger.
