Man’s body found by kayakers in Little Cottonwood Creek

MURRAY, Utah, March 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A group kayaking in Little Cottonwood Creek spotted a man’s body in the water Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Murray Police officials said the group discovered the body in the area where the creek meets the Jordan River at approximately 1:30 p.m. and immediately called 911.

Police, fire and the medical examiner all responded and firefighters pulled the body from the water later Thursday afternoon, officials said.

No other information about the deceased man, including his identity and age, is known at this time. It’s not clear how long the body had been in the water.

The body was transported to the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner.
