OGDEN, Utah, Feb. 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police detectives are investigating an incident that occurred Saturday night, in which a man was found alive, but unresponsive on the 2200 block of Monroe Boulevard.

The call came in as a shooting, but police referred to the incident as an “aggravated assault” when they put out a tweet asking the public to avoid the area.

Ogden Police Lt. Tyler Ziegler said officers were dispatched at 9:52 p.m. on a call reporting an unresponsive male.

Ziegler did not provide any details other than to say that officers arrived and found an unresponsive adult male, and the man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. No information was released regarding the type of injuries the man sustained.

Ziegler added that this is a “very fresh” case and detectives had just begun investigating the scene. He said it’s likely that more information will be released in the morning.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story when more information is made available.
