U.S. Navy Officer Dies After Chattanooga Shooting

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., July 18 (UPI) — A Navy Petty officer wounded in the Thursday attack at the Navy Operational Support Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., died early Saturday, bringing the death toll to five U.S. service personnel.

Randall Smith, a Petty officer in the Navy, was among three injured in the shooting at the Navy Operational Support Center.

Four Marines were also killed in the shooting, as was suspect Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez. The Navy said Smith is survived by his wife and three children.

The announcement comes as hundreds gathered in Chattanooga to mourn the deaths.
