LONDON, Dec. 30 (UPI) — The autopsy on the body of British pop star George Michael was inconclusive in determining the cause of his death.
Michael, 53, was found dead in his London home Christmas morning Sunday. His manager, Michael Lippman, said he died of heart failure, but an autopsy was scheduled to prove exactly what killed him.
“The cause of death is inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out,” People magazine reported the Thames Valley Police said in a statement Friday. “The results of the tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks.”
The BBC said Michael’s death is still being treated as “unexplained but not suspicious.”
