DRAPER, Utah, April 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 3-year-old boy who was killed Saturday night in Draper after being hit by an SUV has been identified.
Tanner Ault and his family were at a friend’s home celebrating a baptism, officials said.
Sgt. Chad Carpenter, of the Draper City Police Department, said the accident happened at approximately 7:30 p.m., near 11688 S. 700 West. The boy reportedly ran into the road, and was struck by an SUV driven by a 49-year-old woman.
A GoFundMe page set up for Tanner has raised $27,150 so far, with 361 people donating in just one day and 2,200 people sharing the page.
The page said: “Our sweet little Tanner Ault aka “Tan Man” passed away Saturday night after being struck by a car in a tragic accident. We are seeking funds to help lift the financial weight of mounting medical and funeral costs from this sweet heartbroken family. Any donation is greatly appreciated.”
Tanner suffered severe head trauma, and was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries, Carpenter said.
