71-year-old man critically injured in Sandy motorcycle crash

SANDY, Utah, Oct. 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 71-year-old man was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition after he crashed his motorcycle into a U-Haul truck late Sunday afternoon.

The collision occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. at 9710 S. Wasatch Blvd., according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray. She said the crash scene is in an unincorporated area between Sandy and Salt Lake City.

“A 71-year-old male on a motorcycle hit the back of a U-Haul as the U-Haul made a left-hand turn,” Gray told Gephardt Daily.

The man was transported by ground ambulance in “extremely critical condition,” she said. She had no other information Sunday evening, as the incident was still under investigation.
