RICH COUNTY, Utah, June 19, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A 17-year-old girl died Friday afternoon after she was ejected from an off-highway vehicle four teenagers from California were using to do “donuts” in the parking lot of Heritage Park, in Garden City.
The girl who died was in the back seat and not wearing a seatbelt or helmet at the time of the incident, according to the initial investigation.
A call came to dispatch at about 4:15 p.m., says a news release issued by Utah Division of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Captain Chase Pili.
“Life saving efforts were provided by responders, but the female was pronounced dead,” the news release says.
“We would like to express appreciation for the response and assistance provided by Intermountain Health Lifeflight, Rich County Sheriff‘s Office, Rich County EMS and the Garden City Fire District.
“The Utah Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division offers its sympathies and condolences to family and friends during this difficult time.”
