RIVERTON, Utah, Dec. 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a Shell gas station and convenience store at knifepoint late Sunday.

Unified Police Lt. Manfred Lassig said the robber entered the store at 12592 S. 1300 West shortly after 10:30 p.m. and brandished a large knife at the clerk.

The suspect didn’t get any cash, but fled the store with “about four packs of cigarettes,” Lassig told Gephardt Daily.

The suspect ran northbound and got into a vehicle. A K-9 unit was brought in and officers were able to track the suspect for some distance, but then the trail went cold, Lassig said.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, about 6 feet tall and skinny. He was wearing a dark jacket and hoodie, and his face was covered. It wasn’t immediately clear if he was wearing a bandanna or if his face was partially hidden by the hoodie.

Anyone who has any information about this case is asked to call Unified Police Dispatch at 801-743-7000.
