Security staff in SLC finds man passed out with stolen handgun in pants

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 25, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was arrested after hotel security staff in Salt Lake City found him passed out with a concealed stolen handgun in his pants Sunday morning.

Radisson Hotel security staff found the man in the area of the hotel at 215 W. South Temple St. just after 6 a.m., according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“Officers approached the suspect, secured the weapon and took him into custody,” the news release said. “The firearm was confirmed stolen out of another agency.”

Officers booked Jeffrey Eugene Beasley, 35, into jail for theft by receiving stolen property, carrying a weapon by a restricted person, possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication.
