MORGAN COUNTY, Utah, July 16, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A semi-truck driver was killed early Thursday after he was ejected when his truck overturned in Weber Canyon, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 2:06 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 84 near milepost 108.
UHP said the semi, which was carrying a load of apples, failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and overturned on the roadway. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
A male passenger who was sleeping in the truck at the time of the crash was not injured.
Lane 2 of eastbound I-84 is expected to remain closed for most of the day while crews remove the overturned truck and clean up the spilled cargo. UHP said traffic impacts are expected to be minimal.
