Three Car Accident on I-15 Sends Three to the Hospital
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – July 27, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A three-car accident on I-15 near 1300 South Monday morning sent three people to the hospital.
According to Trooper Shawn Pepper, Utah Highway Patrol, traffic had slowed due to congestion when another vehicle rear-ended another one causing that car to slam into a third vehicle. “It appears the car was traveling too fast and was unable to stop before hitting the car in front of him,” Pepper said.
Three adult males were sent to area hospitals in serious condition, but their injuries are not life threatening.
“We are not sure if alcohol or drugs were involved but we suspect speed more than anything and the possibility that the driver may have been distracted,” said Pepper. “We just always want to reiterate that people need to be aware of their surroundings, not do distracting things and always wear your seatbelt.”
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
