TOOELE, Utah, Aug. 20, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A Tooele man has been arrested for investigation of allegedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.
Tooele police were contacted by investigators in Alabama, where the girl had undergone a forensic interview. She said that while she was staying with family members in Tooele, she had been touched inappropriately by someone she knew as “Uncle Joey.”
“It was later confirmed through other family members that Uncle Joey was the name the victim used for a man named Clinton Brandon (40-year-old male).”
The child said it had been going on for about two years, “and it would happen almost every time she visited Mr. Brandon.”
The Tooele Police officer contacted Child Services in Alabama, which provided him with a medical report from an exam that had been done, which showed the child had contracted a “sexually transmitted disease.”
A background check on Brandon revealed an extensive criminal history and his status as a registered sex offender, the statement says.
Brandon was arrested for investigation of the alleged crimes of five counts of rape of a child and five counts of sodomy of a child. All are listed as first-degree felonies.
If the case is prosecuted, the Tooele County Attorney’s Office will determine the charges and their severity.
