Texas Motorist Shot in Head During Rush Hour

Harris County- March 20, 2015 – A Texas woman was shot following an altercation Friday morning during rush-hour traffic on Interstate 45.

The gunfire erupted about 7:15 a.m. on the southbound North Freeway near Richey as the woman was driving in her car, said Mark Herman, assistant chief deputy with the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4.

The altercation happened around 7:15 a.m. near Richey, Texas.  As the victim and the suspect were driving in slow traffic on the freeway the driver of a white SUV pulled up towards the victim several times. At some point the SUV pulled up next to her and shots were fired into her vehicle shattering the driver’s side window and hitting the victim in the back of the neck.

The SUV then left the scene.

When the woman realized she had been hit she pulled over and called 911. Paramedics rushed her to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center with the bullet was still lodged in her neck.

Her condition at this time is not known.
