Philadelphia Phillies Skipper Ryne Sandberg Resigns
Philadelphia Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg has announced his resignation midway through his second full season as the struggling club’s skipper.The Phillies currently own MLB’s worst record at 26-48, which followed a 73-89 campaign and last-place finish in the National League East under Sandberg in 2014.
Sandberg compiled a 119-159 overall record since taking over for Charlie Manuel on August 16, 2013. The Hall of Fame Player was named the team’s permanent manager on September 22 of that year.
