WEBER COUNTY, UTAH – November 22, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Deputies with the Weber County Sheriff’s Department have recovered the skeletal remains of a body found Saturday afternoon on Ben Lomond Peak.

Deputies said the remains were discovered by a hiker Saturday afternoon on an isolated and rugged cliff off the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Since darkness was setting in, the area was cordoned off until Sunday. At daylight, search and rescue crews and sheriff’s deputies were able to return and hike the two hours up the trail to the scene.

According to deputies, the remains could have been there for as long as a year. Clothing and other personal items were also found in the area.

The remains have been handed over to the Utah Medical Examiner’s office for identification.
