OGDEN, Utah, July 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden City Police Department says a bicyclist was killed Monday morning when he was hit by a dump truck near the intersection of 12th Street and Wall Avenue.
According to an OCPD press release, the bicyclist, believed to be in his mid-30s, was “traveling in the crosswalk east of the intersection” about 6:18 a.m. when he was struck.
Police investigators say the dump truck had been traveling northbound on Wall Avenue when the driver, described as a male in his 50s, turned east onto 12th Street and hit the bicyclist.
“Currently the investigation of this incident is ongoing. Please be patient, as there may be delayed traffic in the general area due to closed lanes,” police said.
