CACHE COUNTY, Utah, July 27, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A Cache County man was arrested Sunday after a domestic violence call led to a SWAT response at a residence near 3800 South 100 West in Nibley.
According to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, family members called deputies fearing for their safety and reported that Abraham Quesada was armed with two handguns.
The sheriff’s office said Quesada had an active felony warrant out of Idaho. When deputies arrived, he reportedly said he was “not going back to prison” and refused to surrender.
SWAT officers and armored vehicles were deployed because of the reported firearms, the active warrant and Quesada’s refusal to come out, authorities said.
After negotiations, Quesada surrendered without incident. Deputies recovered multiple firearms during a search of the residence.
Quesada was booked into the Cache County Jail. Additional local charges are pending.
The sheriff’s office thanked the Logan City Police Department for its assistance and credited nearby residents for giving deputies room to safely resolve the incident.
