PAYSON, Utah, June 1, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- State troopers have released the names of the victims in a double-fatal crash Tuesday in Payson.

Killed in the crash were the Kia driver, Riley Durst, 19, from: Draper, and the Jeep driver, Christopher Suiter, 50, of Santaquin.

The blue Kia was traveling north on Interstate 15 near milepost 250 in Payson, according to the Utah Highway Patrol

"For an unknown reason, the Kia went from the far right lane, across three lanes of traffic and through the median. In the median it went through the cable barrier, sheering it off.

"As the vehicle traveled over the cable barrier it became airborne and struck a green Jeep Gladiator that was traveling south on I-15 head on, killing both drivers immediately."

There were no other passengers in either vehicle, the UHP said. Two other vehicles struck the debris and cable barrier doing damage. No injuries were reported in those vehicles.

A Gofundme account has been set up for the Suiter family, which reportedly buried a son earlier in May. Find the link here.

An obituary for Durst says he "lived a vibrant life filled with energy, curiosity, and an unwavering love for his family."
