UPDATE: Flaming Gorge Fire Contained and Campgrounds Back Open

FLAMING GORGE, UTAH – June 22, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A wildfire which is still burning in Daggett County just south of Flaming Gorge Reservoir previously forced the evacuation of three campground sites.
According to the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office, Firefighters Memorial Campground, as well as Deer Run, and Cedar Springs Campgrounds were closed Sunday as the fire grew in intensity.
Louis Haynes, the public affairs officer for Ashley National Forrest stated that officials have since then reopened all of the sites.
Highway 191 had also been restricted to just one lane in order to provide firefighters access to the fire site. Both lanes have also been reopened to the public.
The fire currently covers 101 acres, and at least 40 percent of the fire has been contained. Haynes believes that the containment level should be higher by this time tomorrow.
There have been no injuries to civilians, firefighters or officials reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
