HERRIMAN, Utah, July 10, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was critically injured Friday morning when the sedan he was in was struck by a Taylorsville Police Department emergency vehicle.
The police vehicle was headed north on Mountain View Corridor when it collided with a sedan traveling east on Porter Rockwell Boulevard at 6:20 a.m. Two additional vehicles were also struck while stopped on Porter Rockwell Boulevard.
The sedan passenger, a 20-year-old man, was transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital to be treated for critical injuries. The other occupants suffered minor injuries, and were treated at the scene, a statement from the Herriman Police Department says.
The South Valley CRASH team investigators responded to investigate the collision.
“Northbound Mountain View Corridor will be re-routed for several hours. It is advised to avoid northbound Mountain View Corridor coming from Utah County. This is an open and active investigation.”
The department said no additional information would be released at this time.
