MURRAY, Utah, July 9, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Murray City Police detectives suspect there may be additional victims in the community after the recent of arrest of two sexual assault suspects, and are urging people to come forward.
On June 24 of this year, officers arrested Yousef M. Yousef and Odai E Ali, both 18, on charges of sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony, and lewdness involving a child, a Class A misdemeanor. Yousef also faces a charge of rape of a child, a first-degree felony.
“While these arrests have been made, the ongoing investigation has revealed evidence suggesting this may not be an isolated incident,” a Murray City PD statement says. “Detectives strongly believe the suspects targeted and located victims using various social media applications and by tracking locations through digital platforms.
“Investigators are concerned that other individuals may have been contacted, tracked, or victimized under similar circumstances. Message to victims Detectives understand that coming forward is incredibly difficult but want victims to know that they are not alone. Your safety and well-being are a priority and any information you provide will be handled with the utmost sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect.
