IRON COUNTY, Utah, July 9, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Iron County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the person whose remains were found this spring in Beryl.
The remains were those of Michael Greene, 62, who was living in the area where the remains were found, the Sheriff’s statement says.
The remains were found on on April 12 of this year, near 8600 West and 4800 North, Beryl. The remains were determined to be human, but the individual could not immediately be identified. The remains were transported to the Medical Examiner’s office.
The ICSO says that on June 9, a family member of Greene emailed the office with concerns about Greene, “that they had not heard from him in several months.”
The resulting investigation led to the confirmation that the remains were those of Greene, who had previously lived in the greater Salt Lake City area.
The ICSO says the investigation is ongoing, and no additional information will be released at this time.
