BRIGHAM CITY, Utah, Oct. 25, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — It’s that time of year again, as several thousand sheep trail residential areas of town before crossing Main Street under police escort.

“Just a reminder today is the day they move sheep from Mantua to Corinne!!” Brigham City police advised this morning, posting the city’s sheep run announcement.

“It’s time again for the Brigham City sheep trail! On Saturday, Oct. 25,, 2,200 sheep will make their way to winter pastures. This has been an annual event in Brigham City since the 1930s, and we know many of our residents look forward to seeing them come through”.

Beginning at 8 a.m., the sheep will trail from the intersection of Fish Hatchery Road/Rocky Dugway Road in Mantua (A) and make their way down Highway 89 through Box Elder Canyon.

They’ll arrive in Brigham City at around 9 a.m., where they’ll follow 600 East (B) to 600 North, then turn left on 600 North (C), crossing Main Street and continuing until they reach Watery Lane west of town (D).

The sheep will then head north on Watery Lane, then turn west on S.R. 13 (E) toward Corinne/Bear River City.

In addition to wranglers and handlers from the flock’s owners, plus sheep dogs, the three-hour urban foray of the sheep includes patrol cars blocking off intersections and traditionally no problems, police report, with the animals straying or otherwise encountering trouble, as a polite breed.
