WEBER COUNTY, Nov. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who fled after a domestic dispute with his parents in Washington Terrace on Tuesday morning has been located and arrested.
Carson Lowe, 27, was booked into the Weber County Jail on charges of two counts of failure to stop at the command of a police officer, interfering with an arresting officer, interruption of a communication device and intoxication.
The incident began Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. when dispatch received a 911 call from the area of 5500 S. 150 East in Washington Terrace, the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
“The caller reported a domestic situation involving their adult son,” the news release said.
“During the course of the 911 call the complainant reported that the subject, Carson Lowe, went outside and retrieved a handgun from his vehicle. The complainant was able to lock the door so Carson could not return inside.”
Deputies arrived and encountered Lowe in the roadway in front of the house.
“Deputies established verbal communication with Carson, however, he would not show the deputies both hands, concealing one behind his back,” the news release said. “Carson then entered his vehicle and again deputies attempted to communicate with Carson, but he again refused to comply to their commands. Carson then exited his vehicle and returned to the home and again attempted to make entry.”
Lowe was unable to get into the house, so he retreated towards a fence, still refusing to comply with commands.
“A Taser was deployed and not effective,” the news release goes on. “Carson got over
the fence and again tried to enter the home through the back door. Deputies went inside the home to ensure the safety of the family members inside. Upon opening the back door, they found Carson had fled the area. A handgun was recovered at the scene.”
With the assistance of surrounding agencies and several K-9s, the area was searched and Lowe was not located.
“Several hours later Carson was located near Glassman Pond,” the news release said. “Carson again attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly taken into custody.”
No one was injured in the course of the incident, officials said.
