Vehicle burglaries in 3 states solved when Heber City officer makes the right call

HEBER CITY, Utah, Jan. 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — An off-duty Heber City Police officer saw a vehicle pulling someone on a tire in an icy parking lot and reported it.

Just a couple of guys fooling around on the ice, right? Well, according to a news release from HCPD, that incident led to the solving of several vehicle burglaries — in three states.

The news release states that Patrick Hulme, 20, of Twin Falls, Idaho, was arrested last week on three counts vehicle burglary; five counts third-degree felony possession of another’s identifying documents; three counts possession of stolen property; one count possession of burglary tools; one count of possession of marijuana; one count of possession of drug paraphernalia; one count of possession of alcohol by a minor; and one Heber City Code unsafe activities interfering with operation of a motor vehicle.

Hulme is currently being held on $10,000 bail.

Donald Chernoh, 19, of Heber City, was arrested last week on three counts of vehicle burglary; five counts third-degree felony possession of another’s identifying documents; three counts of possession of stolen property; one count of possession of burglary tools; one count of possession of marijuana; one count of possession of drug paraphernalia; one count of DUI metabolite; one count of reckless driving; and one Heber City Code unsafe activities interfering with operation of a motor vehicle.

Chernoh is currently being held on $10,000 bail.
