ELY, Nevada, Aug. 3, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Nevada Department of Corrections officials have released the name of the remaining inmate killed July 30 in a Ely State Prison fight that killed three men and left nine prisoners injured and hospitalized.

The last name released, reportedly after delayed notification of next of kin, is that of Anthony Williams.

Williams, 41, was serving life without the possibility of parole for habitual criminal and open murder, the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) news release says. He was sentenced out of Clark County, and imprisoned on April 11, 2019.

The two inmate deaths previously announced as a result of the fight were those of:

Zackaria Luz, 42, serving seven to 18 years for racketeering. He came to the NDOC on Oct. 5, 0223, sentenced out of Clark County.

Connor Brown, 22, serving seven to 20 years for the use of a deadly weapon. He came to the NDPC on May 13, 2021, and was sentenced out of Washoe County.

“No officers were injured,” the NDOC statement says.

“No further information is available at this time as it is an active investigation. Ely State Prison remains on lockdown.”
