Sheriff: Park City man, Magna woman arrested for mail fraud, identity theft in Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man from Park City and a woman from Magna have been booked into Summit County Jail on multiple charges related to mail theft, forgery, theft of identity and unlawful possession of charge cards.

Sheriff’s office officials got a call just after midnight on Oct. 25 that a county resident had a suspicious vehicle parked in his or her driveway. A deputy located the vehicle and made contact with the man and woman inside, who were in possession of mail from more than 30 Summit County residents, according to information released by the sheriff’s office.

In addition, fraudulent documents and stolen items were found in the car, as were drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.

Booked in the case were Natosha Louise Alvarado, 38, and Juan Jose Rodriguez, 26. Alvarado is charged with: four counts of identity theft, five counts of forgery, and six counts of unlawful possession of a financial card, all of which are third-degree felonies.

Alvarado also was charged with 30 counts of mail theft and obstruction of justice, class A misdemeanors; possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia, both class B misdemeanors; and giving false personal ID to police, a class C misdemeanor.

Rodriguez was charged with: four counts of identity theft, five counts of forgery and six counts of unlawful possession of financial cards, all third-degree felonies. He also was charged with 30 counts of mail theft, a class A misdemeanor, and possession of burglary tools, a class B misdemeanor.

Alvarado is being held on $100,000 cash-only bail. Rodriguez is being held on $150,000 cash-only bail.
