LONDON – November 29, 2015 — (UPI) — Liam Hemsworth revealed his big brother Chris, a fellow film star, paid off all of their parents’ debts when he made it big.
Liam recalled his sibling’s generous gesture while explaining how his parents — teacher Leonie and social-services counselor Craig — had always instilled in the family an excellent work ethic.
The younger Hemsworth told Britain’s Independent newspaper his brother called their father and told him to check his bank account.
“[Our father] called my brother Chris back and said: ‘I don’t know how to feel. Since I left home I have had debts and I thought I’d be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared.’ They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us, I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that,” Liam explained.
Chris, 32, is known for his work in the Thor and Avengers franchises, while Liam, 25, is the star of The Hunger Games blockbusters. Their 34-year-old brother Luke is a television star in their native Australia.
