Actor Geoffrey Lewis Dead at 79

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., April 8 (UPI) — Geoffrey Lewis died Tuesday at age 79.
Family friend Michael Henderson confirmed the actor’s death to The Hollywood Reporter, with Variety quoting a family friend as saying Lewis died of natural causes.

Lewis was an actor known for his frequent collaboration with Clint Eastwood. He first appeared with the Western movie star in “High Plains Drifter” (1973), and went on to co-star in such films as “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” “Bronco Billy” and “Pink Cadillac.”

Lewis and first wife Glenis Batley were married from 1973 to 1975, and have five children, including actress Juliette Lewis. The actor is survived by second wife Paula Hochhalter and five additional children.

“I can’t say the words,” Juliette Lewis wrote Wednesday on Twitter. “No amount of tears will wash it away Thank u for your out pouring Life is love And love never dies.” The actress also shared a throwback photo of herself with Lewis on Instagram.

“My dad. My dad my love my loving father. My strength my might. My friend. My hugs. My laughter. My love. My dad. Oh my heart. My heart,” she captioned the picture. “He loved us so. He loved us so. So so much. I am forever my father’s daughter and he will never been gone.”
