May 19 (UPI) — “Deadliest Catch” star Sig Hansen was arrested Thursday by the Seattle Police Department following an altercation with an Uber driver.

A police report states that the Uber driver contacted police after he canceled a trip that included Hansen and other guests before they reached their destination,” People magazine reported.

The driver says that Hansen kicked the outside of his car causing damage and then spit on the back of the driver’s head and on the back of the driver’s seat.

After officers observed saliva located on the back of the driver’s headrest, they visited Hansen at his home where police noted that he appeared “obviously intoxicated.”

“[Hansen] vociferously declared that he did not know what I was talking about, that he got a ride from ‘an Uber guy … he took me home, we’re here, we had Norwegian Independence Day, everybody’s happy, I’ve got my family home, we’re safe and sound, that’s it!” the police said in the report.

Hansen was then arrested and taken to King County Jail on charges of assault and property destruction. He will be released on $2,000 bail, TMZ reported.

The 51-year-old has since apologized for his actions in a statement noting, “I am terribly sorry for my behavior and am very embarrassed by it. I owe a bunch of people apologies, first and foremost to our Uber driver, who was just trying to get us home safely. I hope I can make that apology in person. I have no excuse, and accept responsibility for my actions. I made a boneheaded move last night, and I am sorry.”
