July 15 (UPI) — Disney released the first trailer for its anticipated time-travel thriller “A Wrinkle In Time” on Saturday.
The film stars Chris Pine as a time-traveling scientist who is kidnapped, prompting his children to come to his rescue. The movie also stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Zach Galifianakis.
Ava DuVernay was tapped to direct the film. DuVernay previously directed “Selma” and the documentary “13th.”
The trailer, set to the Eurythmics hit “Sweet Dreams,” features Pine alluding to the secrets of time travel. It then cuts to a series of scenes where his children are in pursuit.
Jennifer Lee, the writer of Disney’s smash hit “Frozen,” adapted the “Wrinkle in Time” screenplay from the 1962 young adult novel of same name by Madeleine L’Engle.
The film is set for release in March.
