HOLLYWOOD – November 19, 2015 — There’s good news for the new “Batwatch” movie. The film’s star, Dwayne Johnson, announced that his “San Andreas” co-star, Alexandra Daddario, has come away with the role of ‘Summer.’
In “San Andreas” Johnson and Daddario played father and daughter.
In the TV series, Nicole Eggert played ‘Summer Quinn,” which may indicate “Baywatch” will be reusing some of the TV series’ more popular characters.
Who’s playing Pamela Anderson’s unforgettable character, ‘C.J. Parker, hasn’t been announced. Nor has it been leaked if any of the original cast will be on hand for cameos.
In his official Instagram, Johnson said, “IT’S OFFICIAL: Want to welcome the talented and gorgeous @alexannadaddario to the cast of #BAYWATCH for the role of “Summer”. Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can’t wait for you guys to see her own the role. The female roles of #BAYWATCH have become extremely hot properties around Hollywood and as promised, the quality women we’ll cast are stepping into these roles to have fun and make them iconic for the world to enjoy. The #BaywatchFamily so far consists of a tatted up bald guy named Rock, the cool, yet extremely unattractive @zacefron, the talented and gorgeous Alexandra Daddario…and some big casting announcements coming soon. And juuuuust wait til you guys see who we cast for the iconic role of “CJ Parker”.
Director Seth Gordon has indicated the film will be a very sexually charged comedy that finds Johnson as a no-nonsense lifeguard teaming up with the other lifeguards in order to save the beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.
