WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, DEC. 7, 2018, (Gephardt Daily) — A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition after an early morning rollover accident in West Valley City.
WVCPD Lt. Brandon Christiansen told Gephardt Daily the extremely violent crash involving two cars happened at the intersection of 3100 South and Redwood Road about 5:26 a.m.
The woman, who was thrown from her vehicle, died at the scene.
The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, with internal injuries, but has since stabilized and is expected to survive.
Christiansen said cause of the crash had yet to be determined, but the damage at the crash site made it clear that speed was a factor in the case.
Police have yet release the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
The intersection was still closed for the investigation as of noon.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
