OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 30, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Investigators from the Ogden Police Department and other agencies are on the scene of a fatal auto-pedestrian crash near 3300 Wall Avenue.
According to an OPD statement, posted on social media, officers responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian collision near the intersection of 33rd Street/Wall Avenue in Ogden City about 4 p.m.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased adult male.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was using a designated crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle. However, the initial investigation indicates that the crosswalk signals were not being used properly.”
“The driver left the scene, but was stopped by officers a short distance later. The driver is cooperating with the investigation,” the OPD statement said.
“Further details are not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
“The incident is under investigation by the Weber-Morgan Crash Team.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact the Ogden Police Traffic Bureau at 801-395-8221.”
