SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A makeshift memorial has appeared at a Redwood Road crash site where a 21-year-old motorcyclist died Monday.
Police say Artem Milne of Murray, Utah died when his bullet bike was cut off by a driver pulling onto Redwood Road south from an Astro Burger parking lot.
A witness told Gephardt Daily she was just a couple cars behind the bike when the collision happened. “It really puts life into perspective and makes you hurt for not just the young man who died, but his family and the driver of the car,” she said.

Master Officer Samuel Winkler of the South Jordan Police Department said Milne died on impact even though he was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to Intermountain Medical Center.
Winkler said Monday’s deadly accident should serve as a notice to all motorists that summer driving means greater risks.

“This is an unfortunate reminder to all motorists that with warmer weather we all need to be conscious of motorcycles, bicyclists and pedestrians using the roadways,” Winkler said. “These other modes of transportation may be harder to see and motorists should stop for an extended time to ensure the roadway is clear before proceeding.”
