BRIGHAM CITY, Utah, Oct. 9, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A man hunting for shed antlers located human remains nearly two weeks ago, says a statement issued Wednesday by the Brigham City Police Department.

“On Sept. 27, 2024, at approximately 10:40 hours, an antler shed hunter responded to the Brigham City Police Department and advised that he had located what he believed was a human skull,” a BCPD statement says.

“He advised that he did not touch the remains, and marked the GPS location where he had located it. Patrol and Detectives responded to the area and located the skull.”

With guidance from the Officer of the Medical Examiner, the skull was collected and placed in evidence.

“On Oct. 3, 2024, detectives requested the assistance of Rocky Mountain Search Dogs, (which) responded back to the area in an attempt to locate the rest of the remains.

“Unfortunately, the human remains detection dogs were unable to locate any further remains. The remains that were located have been taken to the OME’s office for further investigation.”

No additional information was released on the case. Gephardt Daily will share new information as more details are released.
