SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 22, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night for alleged crimes against a 16-year-old boy.

Mohamed V. Fakii was arrested by Salt Lake City police for investigation of alleged forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony, and kidnapping, a second-degree felony. As always, charges are determined by the County Attorney’s Office and not by police departments.

A forensic interview was conducted with the boy, who said he was walking around an apartment complex after taking out the trash.

The boy said he was approached by three males, including Fakii, “who asked him where he was going. (The boy) ignored the males and continued walking when the three males grabbed him, picked him up, and carried him into an apartment.”

The boy told investigators that once inside the apartment, he was held down on a bed in the living room, and his clothing was removed. Two males held him down by the legs and upper body, and the third man, identified as Fakii, sexually violated him.

The teen said the three men next moved him to a bedroom, where Fakii again violated him.

The boy said that, at some point, the other two males left the apartment, so he returned to the living room to retrieve clothing and cell phone.

Fakii exited the bedroom, his affidavit says, and the teen attacked him, punching the man multiple times in the face.

The boy said soon after, his mother and sister arrived, having tracked his phone and called police. The call came to dispatch at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Post Miranda, Fakii declined to speak with detectives, his arrest documents say.

He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail system early Wednesday morning, and ordered to be held without bail.
