KANE COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 1, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A box truck passenger died Monday afternoon after the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer in the road.
The incident happened at about 2:50 p.m. on State Route 14 near milepost 37, in Kane County. The truck was eastbound.
“The driver stated that he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway” a Utah Highway Patrol statement says.
“The box truck left the roadway to the right and overturned coming to rest on its top. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
“The 39-year-old male passenger suffered fatal injury and was declared dead at the scene.”
