Pleasant Grove moose visitor transplanted to the wild

Video Still Frame: Utah Division of Wildlife Services

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, July 9, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials successfully moved a moose, in town for a holiday visit, to higher ground.

The moose was ambling in a residential neighborhood of Pleasant Grove, according to a Utah Division of Wildlife Resources post online Tuesday, which includes a video 2:32 long of the adventure.

“This past week, the Pleasant Grove Police Department assisted our biologists in tranquilizing and relocating a young cow moose to excellent habitat in the mountains of Utah County.

“If you listen, you can hear the moose snoring while she is momentarily sedated in the horse/moose trailer. Thank you to the police and residents of Pleasant Grove for your help!”

Even though it’s a young cow moose, it took eight adults to haul the snoozing beast to a trailer for transport. She earned a radio collar for her troubles.
