WEST JORDAN, Utah, Oct. 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake Community College Jordan campus was evacuated on Wednesday morning due to a smell now believed to be pepper spray.
The smell was contained to the Jordan High Tech Center of the campus, at 3491 W. 9000 South, West Jordan.
Emergency personnel were called in, according to a campus source, and the building was evacuated. Once it was determined a blast of pepper spray was the most likely cause, officials aired out the building.
“The idea was to just sort of evacuate the building as a precaution,” said SLCC spokesman Joy Tlou. “All classes will resume at noon.”
