MARYSVALE, Utah, July 6, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Silver King Fire burning about 8 miles west of Marysvale in Piute County has grown to 2,830 acres, state wildfire officials said Saturday.
“The fire is pushing to the south through the Beaver Creek drainage, burning in heavy dead and down timber stands,” Utah Fire Info stated on social media.
Firefighters protected the Historic Silver King Mine on Saturday and worked to prevent the fire from spreading to the north, the post says.
The fire was caused by lightning, state wildfire officials said.
“Please avoid the areas of the Beaver Creek drainage and Bullion drainage to provide for the safety of firefighters and the public,” the post says.
